"[...] an exciting suspense novel! [...] the confluence of this Lorenzo, this Steinway, and this nice recital hall gave us this unique revelation." This is how Douglas McNair described in the Chamber Music Today Ruben Lorenzo's performance at the Carnegie Hall of New York, in December 2007, with the interpretation of the renowned Betic Fantasy by Manuel de Falla, which immersed the journalist for the first time, as he stated, in the microtonalism that Falla himself had intentionally sought in his piece. Spanish pianist, was born in Zaragoza where he studies with Julieta Bel (Piano and Chamber Music Honor Award) and later in Madrid with Pedro Espinosa, Josep Colom and G. Fernández Álvez. He temporary lives in London where he continues his studies with Nariné Arootuinian (Royal Academy of Music) and Louis Kentner (Yehudi Menuhin School). His intense concert activity for more than 30 years has led him to act in prestigious venues in different countries in Europe, Asia and America, including the Franz Liszt Hall of Budapest, Villa Louvigny Theatre in Luxembourg, the Salle Cortot of Paris, Simon Bolivar Amphitheater in Mexico, the Weill Recital Hall (Carnegie Hall) of New York or the Lee Hysan Concert Hall of Hong Kong, among others.

Numerous reviews have always highlighted his elegance, beauty of sound and communication skills in the musical discourse, as well as the virtuosity in his performance. In the beginning, Eduardo Fauquié wrote of him: “[...] he came to demonstrate that he already is a great pianist.” “[...] a pianist of great essence.” and more recently: “[...] one of the most chilling and emotive piano performances one remembers.” (Luis Alfonso Bes, Heraldo de Aragon). German critics write: A commendable performance hats-off to the soloist! (Katrin Seidel, “Leipziger Volkzeitung” 1995) and in France – “[...] the Spanish pianist became an ambassador of his country’s musical heritage” (J.Lukas, La Terrasse Nov. 2007)

With a vast repertoire played in concert, over the last few years, he has performed numerous recitals based on specific themes. It is especially important to emphasize the premiere in Spain of the premiere of the four volumes of Makroskosmos by George Crumb, a reference work in the art of contemporary piano. He has recorded 9 CDs with works by Granados, Mendelssohn, Beethoven, Liszt, Gottschalk, and several contemporary and Spanish composers.

Between 2008 and 2009 addresses the Beethoven's 32 Complete Piano Sonatas with the pianist Mario Monreal, within the cycle of “Pilar Bayona Great Soloists” in the Auditorium of Zaragoza besides renowned concert halls in Paris, London and Strasbourg.

In 2014, he made his third tour in China playing Spanish, European and Chinese music, and a tour in several countries from South America.

In 2015, he performed during the closing concert of a series of concerts in homage to the renowned Spanish pianist Pilar Bayona.
